We are located in Northern Norway in the remote Pasvik Valley – the scenic narrow strip of land between Russia and Finland – near the town of Kirkenes. Kirkenes has a regional airport with daily connections to Oslo.
Norwegians know a thing or two about handling and clearing snow on the runway and on their roads in general, so cancellations because of the weather conditions are very rare events.
For our guests to experience a safe, enjoyable, and insightful tour, Arctic Outlaws has special focus on:
Less is more. Small groups of 6-10 guests are a priority for Arctic Outlaws as it gives the guide good time to attend to all guests during the tour, it gives the guests the opportunity to get to know each other well. Also, the guests can more easily be included in the decision making.
The tours with Arctic Outlaws are meant to take stress off your mind - not the opposite. Thus, we will proceed with a slow pace suitable for all while now and then checking our location using the good old map and compass.
The guide knows the area where we travel well, and has extensive training and experience in ski expedition and winter camping that is shared with guests.
We are respectful guests in the nature. While on tour, we leave no traces behind, and we observe and adhere to all local regulations and customs.
You will enjoy our tours if you bond with the great outdoors, enjoy fellowship with other travellers, and are curious to learn how to travel and stay comfortable “ski expedition style” in a relaxed and involving way.
You perhaps already enjoy connecting with nature in an active manner, but, here in the arctic, you lack the knowledge, skills, and equipment to bring this into reality.
Whether you are a group of friends, a couple, a solo traveller, a family with teenage/grown children, an educational institution, or a corporate company, we are confident that one of our tours will be a match for you.
Being on tour with us you are invited to be an active participant, and, having learned new skills, you will leave with a sense of proficiency wanting to explore further on your own.
No special equipment or prior knowledge to skiing needed. Find out more about necessary travel information.
